Sun-hi picked her way through Chimmug Valley. The thoughts of bandits in that certain area didn't scare her, but she had still brought her throwing knives along with her. The small, red-haired girl moved through the trees. Though she was small, she was known for her speed and agility, as well as her fighting skills. The grass tickled her bare feet, and a breeze blew at her rumpled hair. She was quite a sight - pretty, but almost wild looking. Her shining red hair fell down her back in waves, and her pale skin would have looked even whiter under the moonlight if she hadn't decided to stay under the cover of trees.
Movement caught her eye, and she swiftly removed a knife. The girl narrowed her green eyes, watching to see if the creature, whatever it was, would come out. I'm sure it's an animal - a deer maybe? - or one of the villagers. To be honest, she came into the valley often in search for food, but she had never once run into a thug. The woman crept forward, approaching the thing the sound had come from. It was a man. She paused, lowering her hand (the one that clenched the knife). He certainly didn't seem like a bandit. Just a villager. "Mm. Hello."
Hak had set out for a journey into the valley that was close to the empire. He had his axe-lance thing in one hand, casually thrown over his right shoulder. The tall boy looked around, pursing his lips together to whistle. He whistled a Wind Tribe tune when he heard something.
He turned his head, barely whistling anymore. He saw a girl, her hand low. In it was a knife. Another one? Gods, what's up with the women and weapons. He raised his hand up to his forehead, giving a one motion wave.
Sun-hi studied the man for a moment, before placing the knife back where it belonged. She dropped her arms to her sides. "No," she replied. "Believe it or not, I'm not a murderer," she shrugged, glancing behind her through the trees. As long as they were talking, they were sure to drive off any prey. "I was hunting for my family," she added, in case he thought it odd that she was carrying a knife through the forest. The red-haired girl had no idea what he could be doing what-so-ever with that thing hanging over his back.
He had been whistling something she hadn't heard before. She found that odd, considering she'd heard most of the songs from the earth tribe, even if she didn't exactly live there. One of her parents was an earth tribe member, the other a fire. She lived on the fire tribe's area, the area right next to the earth tribe. This didn't stop her from wandering wherever she wanted, which mostly consisted of the earth tribe. She'd always liked that place much more. "What were you whistling just a second ago?" She had always loved music.
Hak gave a nod, shrugging. "Never said you were. But, thanks for telling me." There was a bit of sarcasm in his tone, but not much. He could have beaten her if worse came to worse. "Hunting, hmm? I haven't encountered anyone who hunts for a while."
The Earth Tribe was a pampered tribe. Not many people were seen going out to hunt for food. "Hmm? It's an old song I knew before I came here."
Sun-hi nodded to his 'thanks', leaning against a tree behind her. "Well, now you have. I hunt," she answered with a shrug of her small shoulders. "We don't have enough money to buy food," she added. She didn't care what she told them. Yes, they were poor, but everyone in her family was excellent at fighting. Besides, he didn't even know where she lived, and he didn't have a reason to take advantage of them.
"Oh?" She inquired, the music perking her interest. She loved singing, but she was too self conscious to do it in front of others. "Whats it called?" Perhaps she could ask someone about it if she knew the name. She liked the tune, and she decided she wanted to learn it.
Hak paused at her question. The name of the song? He hardly remembered what it was called himself, and he had been part of the Wind Tribe. But, the tribe disappeared when he was just a teenager. "It's an old song from the Wind Tribe. It's name is lost to history."
Sun-hi ran a hand through her hair. "That's too bad," she said. "It has a beautiful tune." Wind tribe? Huh? She'd heard of it before, when she was younger. "And how, if you don't mind my asking, did you come across it?"
That peaked her interest. The last member? She blinked up at him with green eyes filled with curiosity. She had so many questions. "Can you teach it to me?" She asked instead.
After a moment, Sun-hi sat beside him, shrugging off whatever people use to carry throwing knives, wrapping her arms around her knees. "I'm Sun-hi, by the way," she said, looking up at him with wide, curious green eyes.
Hak nodded at her. "I'm Hak. Nice to meet you." The tall boy the put his hands on his knees. "Okay, so first, it goes like this." He whistled the first lick of the song. "You try."
Sun-hi nodded. "It's a pleasure," she replied. Closing her eyes, head cocked as she listened to the whistling. She wasn't very good at whistling, so she opened her mouth and sang the tune with a series of ah's. After a moment, she opened her eyes, slightly nervous about what he'd say about her voice. She was good at singing, but she had low self-esteem. "Was that it?"
Sun-hi repeated him once more, becoming slightly more comfortable singing in front one of the black-haired man. She liked the guy, she decided. He was nice, and he liked, or at least knew, new music.
