Shin-ah walked through the gate of the Fire Tribe, looking around with his mask covering his face, like usual. The blue-haired man walked away from the area, where the guards had let him in. He paused, looking at the different things in the market. But, he could feel the stares of the people around him. It made him a bit uncomfortable. @swordsunite
Once again, Haku was either checking the tribe area or taking a walk and talking to the villagers. She just happened to be walking through the marketplace when she spotted a man wearing a mask. Her head tilted and she frowned, narrowing her crimson irises at him. What the heck? That was the second time she caught someone wearing something that made him/her look suspicious.
Why? Just why! Why would you do that to yourself? It is pretty obvious whether you want to be found out or not. You look suspicious. You have got to be kidding me... Haku let out a sigh of distress and walked up to the man, planting her feet to the ground and staring at him. "Are you from the Lightning Tribe? If so, you guys have a weird way of trying not to look suspicious in other tribes.
So, state your name, tribe, and your business here in the Fire Tribe."
Shin-ah heard a voice. He turned his head, the bells on his mask jingling and then swaying when he stopped. The blue-haired dragon blinked at her, though she couldn't see it behind his horned mask. His yellow eyes narrowed momentarily at her comment.
"Lightning Tribe? Disguises? I am afraid you're wrong." The Blue Dragon stared at the leader, trying to decide if she had place of authority in this place. It seemed like everyone he met did in a way.
"I am from the Water Tribe. And, my mask hides my powers. I am the Blue Dragon."
Oh, so he wasn't from the Lightning Tribe. She also didn't mean to insult him if that was his normal look. It just looked like he was trying to cover something up. You're from the Water Tribe... and you're the Blue Dragon?" That was kind of amazing. Wow... She has now met the dragon of Lightning Tribe and the dragon of Water Tribe. Maybe it was meant to be that she met them. She was new and wanted to learn more about the other tribes.
They could teach her a few things about their tribe. It was crazy that she hadn't even met the dragon of her tribe. The Red Dragon had made an appearance at her ceremony, but she only saw him with just a glance then he was gone. "My name is Hakunai. I prefer to be called Haku. I'm the leader of Fire Tribe."
Shin-ah was almost surprised at her. She seemed to be less hostile, at least in his eyes. He gave a nod, bowing to her. "Pleasure. You may call me Shin-ah." The dragon paused, realizing he hadn't told her why he had come.
"I apologize if I alarmed you. I have just come to see what all you have here. Tribes are different. I doubt you would have water things or fish here."
"Pleasure to meet you as well, Shin-ah." Haku wasn't sure if she should've called him Shin-ah or Blue Dragon. He seemed to be settled on Shin-ah so she would call him that. Some people preferred to call the dragons by their ranks like Water Dragon, Fire Dragon, Lightning Dragon, and the Earth Dragon. The marketplace wasn't as busy today as she thought. It was a decent crowd of people taking a look around. Haku giggled to herself and smiled at the dragon.
"It's quite alright. It seems like the dragons are visiting the Fire Tribe for items in stock lately. Has something happened? Did your tribe get invaded by a band of rogues or something?" It wasn't a weakness she would use against any of the tribes. She was just wondering what was going on and if she needed to warn her tribe about it.
Shin-ah shook his head at Haku. "The Water Tribe is quite alright. A dragon gave me an idea to go and see what's outside of my own tribe. Tensions are high. When I went to the Lightning Tribe, the leader greeted me with hostility."
The dragon looked around. "What do your people sell, anyway? When I went to the Lightning Tribe, I bought my squirrel, Ao." he said, referring to the ginger creature on his shoulder. It made a squeaking sound when he said its name.
That was good to hear. She wouldn't have to worry about her tribe getting robbed of its goods. Haku shrugged her shoulders and nodded. Yeah, it made sense to go take a look around the other tribes. They could have something that you would really need or want. The Blue Dragon told her about his visit to the Lightning Tribe. The Lightning Tribe leader was being hostile towards him. How did he expect other leaders to react to him?
They were all looking out for their tribe. She wanted to ask how his leader reacted to other people coming from different tribes but she refused to do that. "Fire Tribe favors in weaponry. It would only make sense. Not that you don't have common sense. Fire is used for the blacksmiths to make weapons."
Haku shifted her gaze onto the little squirrel resting on his shoulder. The squirrel came from the Lightning Tribe, huh? Did they sell animals? Or, maybe they just happened to sell a few. It was cute that the dragons had little pet companions. "Mind telling me why you purchased Ao? Do you like squirrels?"
Shin-ah gave a small grunt-like noise. Weaponry? He had a perfectly good sword, but perhaps he could take a look at a few of the other weapons to see if any suited his liking. "There's no need to correct yourself." he said, giving a tiny smile. He rarely smiled, but her correcting herself gave him a small amount of entertainment.
Shin-ah shook his head. "I wanted a companion. The people in my tribe think I'm cursed, so I have only one friend: Nam. I heard his tribe sold pets, and Ao looked half-starved. So, I bought him." He looked at his shoulder, stroking the ginger squirrel with one finger.
The slight grunt noise made her wonder if he didn't like that answer. It wasn't her fault. That was what her tribe sold. His tiny smile was almost unnoticeable. Haku noticed it but that didn't seem to bother her. It was nice to see a smile on his face. Am I growing soft? Well, I have always been but... sometimes I can be stubborn I guess.. She blinked and listened to the Water Tribe dragon explain to her why he got Ao. That sounded nice.
Of course, he would want the squirrel as a companion, but he could've had another reason and he did. "Half-starved, you say?" That was a nice thing of him to do for the squirrel. It was hard to believe a tribe would starve an animal especially if they were hoping to sell it. They would want it to be healthy and ready to live with a stranger that they would have to get to know. "I have so many questions but I really shouldn't dig into your life.
I wouldn't want people asking me a bunch of questions about my life. It's personal." she paused for a moment and said, "So, I'm guessing you haven't seen our weapons yet..? Or, were you not interested in them? I could show you around."
Shin-ah gave a small nod. "I don't think it was purposeful. I am more than certain that he was a new arrival if anything. He just looked really sad." The masked-man shrugged. "I don't mind, honestly. As long as I'm willing to share it."
The blue-haired boy nodded. He understood what she meant, but he really didn't care what people asks shim. He would reply if he wanted to and stay quiet if he didn't like the question. "I would like to see them. I have this sword, but I may need more."
Well, as long as it wasn't purposeful. Haku wouldn't be able to tolerate something like that. She nodded, understanding what he meant by that. Most animals looked kind of sad in their own way. Maybe it was the sparkle in the animal's eyes that made humans feel like taking care of them. The girl shook her head and waved her hands in front of herself in distress. "No, no. It's fine." She didn't mean to press into the subject any further. It could be a sore subject.
Of course, once Haku said no, it was kind of hard to change her mind. Haku wanted to know why people thought he had a curse. Maybe it was the mask he wore. He said that it sealed his powers, but don't the other dragons have powers as well? "Okay. Follow me." she said and started to walk off, looking back at the dragon and gesturing for him to follow.
Shin-ah turned, following after the Fire Tribe's leader. He looked around as he walked, taking in the scenery. There were hammering noises, sparks, and people were distracted as he walked by with his jingling bell and mask and fur. He looked away from them, ahead of him as he follow Haku.
Haku glanced back at the Blue Dragon. It didn't seem to phase him as people watched him walk by. This is ridiculous. She stopped and turned to look at the people that were staring. "You all have jobs to do. There is nothing to see here, alright? Get back to work." she snapped and huffed, shifting her gaze instantly to Shin-ah after she got onto her villagers. The villagers had a shock expression on their faces, and they slowly turned back to what they were working on. Haku turned around and continued to walk forward, glancing back at Shin-ah every once in a while. "So, do you see anything you like so far?"
Shin-ah glanced at her when she snapped at the villagers. They all went back to work. How obedient. he thought, tilting his head slightly. He looked around, pausing beside a small knife display. He walked over to it, looking at the weapons.
