Mi-cha crossed the palace to the gardens that lay outside the palace. The princess looked around at the beautiful greens and vibrant colors of the winter flowers that they somehow managed to keep alive at this time of year. They were so beautiful, more beautiful in the dead season than any other season to her. The princess walked down the path that cut between the foliage.
Mi-cha closed her brown eyes, a small smile on her face as she walked around the garden. She had always loved to come here. It was a great place for her to relax when she was angry. But, she wasn't angry. It was more like she was recollecting her thoughts about the past few days.
Since she allowed Seung Dior to stay in the palace, she had felt like she had been so young and carefree. He seemed to make her happy. But, when he left, she knew that everything would go back to the way it used to be. Which wasn't terrible. He just made her feel happy. She sat down on a bench in the gardens, giving a sigh as she opened her eyes, a small frown on her face.
Mi-cha noticed a familiar figure coming towards her. It was her little sister, Ri-cha. The princess smiled, beckoning her to come over. "Ri!"
Ri-cha wore her play clothes that day. Yes, she had play clothes like a child. Obviously, they were clothes that she could play in and get dirty unlike wearing dresses while playing around in the dirt. The clothes she wore was a light pink shirt, underneath her black overalls, red plaid belt around her waist, black leggings, and red bow toe flat shoes. Her long, reddish brown hair was in a bow hairstyle with tight curls flowing down her back. It was simple and cute outfit she threw on for outside playing.
Ri-cha approached her sister and Sasa was right behind her, pawing at the back of her shoes. There was a sweet smile on her face as she waved at her sister. "Heheh~ Hiiiii!" The brunette walked up to the bench and turned to pick up her black kitten before sitting next to Mi-cha. "Hi, Mi-cha. What have you been up to?" Sasa settled down in Ri-cha's arms and decided to take a nap since they had been playing the whole time.
Mi-cha smiled as her little sister sat beside her. She wasn't that much older in comparison to her, but she always felt like she had lost her child-like side when she was with Ri-cha. Ri still wore play clothes like the children in the tribe wore. Maybe older years came with more responsibility and less time for play.
The princess shrugged at her sister's question. "What hasn't gone on. Well, a member from the Lightning Tribe had accidentally gotten lost on his way home. I allowed him to stay the night. He was a really kind man. I think he's still around, but he will probably leave anytime."
Mi-cha sighed at the thought of Seung leaving the Earth Tribe. She would miss him so much. They were like best friends, even though it hadn't been that long ago since they met each other. And, he was charming too. So kind, funny, and sweet. He tolerated her falls.
What in the name of Yoso?! Mi-cha had invited a Lightning Tribe member into their home. Yes, he "accidentally" had gotten lost on his way home. How would he get lost if he lived in Lightning Tribe? Was it his first time out or something? Ri-cha was friendly to people and she would give them a place to stay if it was necessary, but she would've been a little more careful around a member from a different tribe. That Lightning Tribe member could've been out to get Mi-cha.
Ri-cha didn't know the whole story otherwise she would've put more thought into it. Mostly leaning toward it being the right thing Mi-cha did for the man. She blinked her brown eyes at Mi-cha and blushed lightly, playing with a curl that had caught her attention and twisting it around her index finger. "Y-Yes.. I did. His name is Jin Seung-tae. He is a commoner and was born in the Earth Tribe. I guess we had the bad luck of not meeting earlier, but... we have met now. He has a calico kitten named Haru.
Haru is a male, and male calicos are rare to find. I hope Jin doesn't give Haru up just because he is rare and could be worth a lot. I don't think Jin would do that... He is very sweet and he... understands me." Ri-cha blushed a little bit harder and held Sasa close to her. That was a good day. They laid in the tall, golden fields of Saeg Meadow. Jin pressed on and asked questions about Ri-cha's duties as a princess.
It was a tough subject for her to talk about since she'd rather talk about something else, but she answered his questions with everything she knew. Okay, maybe it didn't bother her that much. She liked that Jin was curious about her life and wanted to learn more about her. Ri-cha wanted to learn more about Jin, too.
Mi-cha listened to her sister speak. Ri seemed to have a love for cats, she noticed. The princess gave a small hmm sound. She then determined that perhaps this Jin boy wasn't going to harm her little sister. I may have to meet him sometime. I want to know he has no intentions of hurting or taking advantage of Ri.
"Well, that's lovely. I hope to meet him someday." Mi-cha looked at the flowers that sat around them. She plucked one, a daisy, and began to pick at its petals, a small habit she had. Her mind kept drifting towards Seung. She cursed silently at herself.
"Seung-tae? That's odd. The man that is staying here is named Seung. Seund Dior. He's half Korean, half French, if I recall. He was lost on returning home from France."
"W-What! Really?" she asked with wide brown eyes. She laughed to herself and leaned back on the bench. So, Mi-cha wanted to meet Jin. Ri-cha thought her sister would've been a little bit more protective. I guess that's a good thing she isn't freaking out about it. Sasa's ears perked up at Ri-cha's sudden exclamation. The kitten meowed annoyingly and set her head back down, attempting to go to sleep.
Ri-cha looked down at Sasa and giggled. "Sorry~" she whispered and looked back to her sister, who was plucking petals from a daisy. It was a common habit for many people. They would pluck petals from a flower out of boredom or in deep thought. "I let Jin... call me Ri. I think I'll go by Ri from now on. It just sounded so childish and cute. I realized that I should savor my youth and not wish my life away so early."
Wishing her life away was like her wanting time to rush by so she could be an adult. She was trying to be a young, mature adult so fast. That's why she preferred Ahn because it sounded more grown up than Ri. Ri-cha grew excited when Mi-cha told her about the other Seung. "Woah! He's a halfer? That is cool so how well does he speak for a halfer? Does he have an accent?"
Mi-cha looked back at Ri-cha, nodding. "Yes. Why wouldn't I? He sounds like a nice person." The princess went back to her flower picking, her fingers twisting the petals as they came off. She probably shouldn't be messing with Tatiana's flowers, but she really didn't care. She had a habit of flower fortunes.
She looked up in surprised at her sister's comment. "Really? Well, it's a good thing I already call you Ri." Mi-cha laughed at her comment. "Yes. Please, take advantage of your childhood. Since Father died, I feel like I've been so busy with the duties of the palace. We need a new ruler. It's almost like a rush to see who marries me."
Mi-cha sighed, frowning down at the flower petals that now decorated her robes. "Yeah, he kind of does. He can speak Korean well. He speaks French sometimes. I haven't really heard him speak French as much as Korean, though. But, yes, he's half and half."
"O-Oh! Um...~" Mi-cha was right... like always. Jin was a very nice person and they had so much in common. Ri-cha wondered if that was a bad thing. Some people didn't like having many things in common with someone else. Well, um... that's if they want to get together with that someone else. I'm not getting together with Jin. It wouldn't be that serious if they did. Ri-cha was still young and had plenty of time to figure out what she wanted in life.
And, who she wanted to spend her life with. She frowned at Mi-cha and shook her head, refusing to believe that. "I think you should take as long as you want. You have to find the right one. You don't want to end up marrying the wrong guy because you were rushed to get married! They shouldn't rush you otherwise you might marry the wrong guy and that guy will turn out to be very bad for Yoso." It was ridiculous that the princesses were rushed to get married when their time would come for them to rule Yoso.
Maybe that's why Ri-cha was so blessed to be so young. She would have a tremendous amount of time to find the right guy. I feel sorry that Mi-cha has to be rushed to make a decision... But, maybe that is how her life will be and then mine. Ri-cha scooted closer and listened to Mi-cha tell her about the halfer. "What is he like? Either you pay attention really well or you have a crush on him~"
Mi-cha gave a tiny laugh at her sister, patting her hand with her own. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you flustered." The curly-haired princess moved her hand back to her lap, listening as Ri-cha spoke. She never knew that her sister felt like that. It was shocking, but heartwarming, at the same time.
"Ri ..." Mi-cha paused, mustering a smile. "Thank you. I am glad you feel that way. I don't know. I guess the pressure of finding a ruler is getting to everyone's heads, and therefore into my head." She sighed, rubbing her head.
Her hand dropped quickly to her mouth at her sister's comment. She could feel her cheeks get warm, and a bright red blush spread on her face. "C-crush! You mustn't th-thank that!" She gave a nervous laugh, looking away to pick another flower to tear its petals off.
