He closed his eyes, exhaling loudly. "It's fine. I turned out okay." The black-haired man felt her release his arm. It was almost a bit comforting when she had held his arm, but she seemed uncomfortable about it.
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
"A little cocky, but ya you turned out ok. Protective for your tribe." she said and nodded her head. She then looked at him and tilted her head with a sigh. "I'm sorry for being mean, I'm just untrusting of many. Specially males. I moved her from a little town and there many males tried killing me so thats why I hate males now."
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
"I'd rather not say, the past is the past." she said and looked at him and frowned. "But if you don't mind me asking, how are you the only lasting wind tribe member?" she asked him as she heard a loud booming voice yell at someone from across the hall. She let out a cry of fear and buried her head into his chest.
Hak listened to her ask her question. He was about to answer when the loud noise appeared. She had buries her head into his chest. He gently eased her off, standing up. "I'll be right back." He opened the door, closing it as he took off in the direction.
He came back soon after, his weapon re-clothed with the cloth he had to keep it from rusting. He closed the door behind him, laying it on the ground. He was avoiding his turn to speak.
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
When he left, the female pulled her knees up to her chest and watched him leave. When he returned, she watched him. "I-Is, no are you ok Hak?" she asked fear in her voice. Heh look at the devil's daughter now, scared because of a loud deep voice screaming.
She blinked her venomous green eyes and looked down. "Sorry about that.."
Hak slumped against the opposite wall, sliding down against it. His fingers began to touch each other as his hands moved. "There was someone trying to breach the walls. I took care of it."How many are there now? How many have I killed?
"I'm fine." he said, not looking up from his fingers.
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
The devil's daughter made her way over to Hak and lay her hands on her. "Something is troubling I can tell, your going to hate me for saying this but you ain't acting cocky like you normally have been towards me." she said and looked him in his eyes best she could.
Hak just shook his head. He wasn't going to look at her or anyone. "Nothing's bothering me." he lied, looking at the small bloodstain on the cloth on his weapon. He probably should have cleaned it, but he didn't think about it.
"The Wind Tribe was wiped out by murders. They rampaged the villages. I was thirteen at the time. My parents were killed, and I was brought here. The former king offered me a place as a guardian for his daughter. I took it. Word spreads fast. Soon, I heard that they killed off the whole tribe, men, women, and children."
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
"Hak.. I am so sorry." she said and hugged him awkwardly "Honestly, the wind tribe shouldn't be gone, they should be here." she said and then she nodded her head. "I'm here for you, yes I'm in a different tribe that at some point I will be forced to return to. But I will be here for you until I have to leave." she said her sweet side showing.
Hak just shrugged. "You don't have to comfort me. I accept that what happened then is done. There's no more Wind Tribe. There never will be. You can't dwell on the past." He looked up, his hand covering his mouth in a thinking way. He stared at the opposite wall, his back in a hunched position. "Everytime I take down an enemy, I think of those killers."
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
"That's not true because if you ever have a child they will be half wind tribe. Yes its weird logic but its true you got to think of that." she said and then shook her head "Your past is something to dwell on though.. its a nightmare and not only that but its your true life the earth tribe isn't." she said and then sighed.
"The child may be half Wind Tribe, but the tribe itself doesn't live. There's no villages, not a capital, no shops that show that the Wind Tribe once lived there. It wouldn't be the same." At her metioning she killed and got pleasure from it, he glanced at her, a frown on his face. "I wouldn't describe killing someone as some kind of hobby to do." he muttered.
"it was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen,
it was blood."
"It is for me because that's all I know how to do. That's what I was taught when I was growing up. I didn't have parents, I was a slave for heavens sake, I was a toy to others. I never dated, never did any of that crap. I just have killed my whole life. That's it." she said shaking her head. "That's why I was here, I was bettering my skills to murder." she said and sighed.
"Its bad I know and look where it brought me. Prison"
Hak listened to her speak. Though her backstory was not a good one, that still, in his mind, didn't give her the right to kill. "Now I'm even more determined to take your knives from you." He leaned back, his head against the wall.
"The only reason you're in prison now is because you've pissed me off. Damn well, I will say."
